Hull Variation H4

In retrospect I found the section shape of H3 too flat so I went back to the Hatseflats design. Tucked the bow up to arrive at a bow rocker angle of 23 degrees and called it H4.

I discussed the deck layout with Marinus. The easiest option is to make the top of the bow and aft tank flush with the sheerline. This is the approach of Jim Michalak with his Mayfly design. However, for a cruising dinghy it is nice to have the top of the tanks lower than the sheerline. This provides a nice foothold and makes it less likely that small items accidentally roll overboard.

The top of the stern tank and the daggerboard case are aligned with waterline W260. The top of the bow tank will be 50mm under the sheerline.
