Spent a lot of time thinking about the deck layout. On the one hand it is tempting to create a structure with side benches like the CLC Southwester Dory or the Calendar Islands Yawl by Clint Chase. But a fixed structure is not only a lot of work, it solves only one problem. From my experience with TooPhat I learnt that versatility is more important than a hermetically executed design exercise. So I chose the open plan approach similar to Ross Lillistone's Phoenix III design. The slatted seats and floorboards provide a nice platform for sailing but can also be set up as a sleeping platform at a comfortable height, or they can be taken out altogether.
